The Chandelier
The Chandelier
The Chandelier premiered at The White Hotel in early 2020. The custom installation is the result of three years of research and technical ability.
Designed from scratch the chandelier has been created to enhance the live experience and take an audience into the unknown.
This installation can be utilised as a stand-alone art installation. The flexible LED sculpture has been designed to configure in several different layouts to suit the space it’s situated in, whether that’s a gallery, stage or for a bespoke performance. In a temporary installation for a live event, the chandelier complements and contrasts lighting rigs creating special moments, especially in small venues.
As an art installation, all the current sequences are based on nature to immerse individuals in an abstracted version of digital reality.
The saturated and subtle colours of the beautiful world around us are highlighted in various stand-alone experiences.
Current art installation designs include;
Dawn. A beautiful golden sunrise that immerses the viewer the wonders of natural daylight through twilight into the magic of the night sky over a 20 minute period.
Coral. Created as a response to climate change. specifically highlighting the global coral bleaching events causing the reduction of coral reef ecosystems and a cry for help from our oceans.
The chandelier takes you on a reflective journey that transitions through the usual vibrant colours of coral reefs around the world. Over time the colours of distress that the Coral display as the waters in their ecosystem get too warm and the corals expel the algae living in their tissues causing the vibrant colours to get stripped back to a stark white. This rather uncanny experience raises awareness of a global warming events hard to witness with the naked eye.
